Rave Reviews

February 20th, 2012 admin

If you’re considering any type of cosmetic surgery, one of the most crucial steps in the decision-making process is selecting the right doctor for you. You need to feel comfort, trust and confidence in your doctor, knowing he has listened to you and is treating you as an individual with unique needs, history, health and goals. Referrals and reviews can be great tools to help you choose the cosmetic surgeon for your procedure.

Fortunately, these days, there are plenty of ways to find out online about other patients’ experiences.

Here are just a few places to find reviews:

And here are the enthusiastic words of praise from a couple of Dr. Colgrove’s clients:

“I had surgery several years ago at Dr. Colgrove’s office and it was life changing. I had the mommy makeover and have been extremely pleased with my results. I had two children 11 months apart and could not wear a two-piece any more; since my procedure I proudly wear a bikini. My whole experience was fantastic the staff was very caring and knowledgeable about my procedures. My experience was so fantastic I have returned for other procedures and the results are just as fantastic. I have referred several people as well as family members for procedures at Dr. Colgrove’s office. I would not let anyone else touch me, my family or friends. I highly recommend Dr. Colgrove for any plastic surgery needs.” — willorauribe, yahoo.com

“Dr. Colgrove did my “tummy tuck” last year, and it looks wonderful! As a critical care RN, I do a lot of research on MD’s before I choose one, and I found that a lot of local health care professionals (“choosey RN’s”) had chosen Dr. Colgrove and been extremely satisfied. After two babies and a hysterectomy My abdomen was very saggy. Now it looks so good, flat and you can’t even see a scar! All I had to do was listen to and follow the advice of him and his great staff. My only regret is that I didn’t find Dr. Colgrove and have him do my surgery 10 years ago! Saving for a facelift to be done by Dr. Colgrove. I’ve seen his work on other RNs. Bravo to Vinings Surgery Center and Dr. Colgrove!” – ccwrnccrn212, kudzu.com

Understanding Rosacea

February 13th, 2012 admin

Suffering with rosacea, or skin prone to redness and swelling, can be frustrating. One of the solutions to managing rosacea is to find out what specific factors are contributing to inflammation. An article by Melissa Schwarzchild, M.D. published in The Health Journal explains the triggers for rosacea and how to combat them.

Heat is one of the most common triggers. Exposure to high temperatures outdoors will intensify your rosacea. Wearing hats and applying sunscreen daily is a good way to protect yourself. Schwarzchild also notes the many sufferers of rosacea have sensitive skin. Using a mild cleanser and sticking to hypoallergenic facial creams and makeup also can aid in the prevention of further skin irritation.

For a more permanent solution, Schwarzchild recommends rosacea patients turn to a cosmetic surgeon for laser treatments. These gentle, quick procedures target broken capillaries and dilated blood vessels to will significantly reduce redness and create a more even skin tone. These types of treatments are available at Vinings Surgery Center, and specialists are on hand to answer any questions.

FotoFacial RF® treatment applies a unique combination of controlled heat and light (Syneron® Aurora™ laser) to improve the appearance of age spots, freckles, and sun spots. This treatment can improve skin texture, reduce redness and rosacea symptoms, decrease the appearance of unwanted facial veins, and diminish the visibility of enlarged pores.

FotoFacial RF® treatments must be performed in a cycle that corresponds with your body’s own rejuvenation processes with time in between treatments to allow your skin to heal itself.  Typically, FotoFacial RF® patients see the best skin rejuvenation results after a series of five treatments spaced one month apart.
