Your nose is the center of attention when it comes to your face. It’s a feature first noticed by all who meet you.
Because of this, cosmetic nose surgery can make a dramatic difference in your look and confidence. This procedure, technically known as “rhinoplasty”, helps patients achieve the nose they love, or, in some cases, just breathe easier.
Dr. Colgrove has been satisfying patients in the Atlanta and Fulton County areas for more than 25 years by producing beautiful, natural-looking results in a professional, relaxed and supportive setting. Dr. Colgrove has the experience and expertise to answer any questions and alleviate any concerns you might have about this procedure.
In addition to being skilled in aesthetic surgery, Dr. Colgrove is an accomplished reconstructive surgeon. Rhinoplasty is one of the most difficult plastic surgery procedures with which to achieve consistently good results. The difference between a good result and a poor result in rhinoplasty can be a matter of as little as 1 millimeter. Dr. Colgrove has both the delicate surgical skills and outstanding sense of aesthetics needed to achieve the result that best fits with your other facial features.
Women and men of all ages who visit us choose rhinoplasty for a variety of cosmetic and functional reasons, including:
- Reducing the size of a large or prominent nose
- Sculpting the nose into a more aesthetically pleasing shape
- Correcting a nose that turns up or down too much
- Decreasing nostril size
- Resolving a disfigured nose due to injury
- Correcting functional defects, such as a deviated septum
Before surgery, our rhinoplasty patients engage in a thorough consultation with Dr. Colgrove which includes a computer simulation of possible results. During the consultation, Dr. Colgrove will discuss your medical history and expectations and evaluate your nose to determine the techniques that will produce the best possible outcome for you. A surgery plan will be created that includes pre-surgery instructions, surgical techniques and anesthesia to be used, as well as post-operative care and expectations.
Rhinoplasty usually lasts 1 to 2 hours with a local sedation or general anesthesia and is usually done on an outpatient basis. You can expect temporary bruising and swelling around the eyes and nose, headaches and some bleeding. Recovery time is around 1 to 2 weeks. The final result from the surgery can be seen in 1 year, and the results are permanent. The rhinoplasty procedure is performed in our facility, Vinings Surgery Center in Atlanta.
